Topic typing short e and o in devanagari

Hello,

For some Middle Indic text I need to type a short e and short o. In open syllables this is no problem for e ?. For o I have been able to construct the character with the character map ?? However in closed syllables f.i. short ke ?? and ko ?? there should be a half moon above the line as well. I have tried to input this separately via the character map, but it does not work. Any suggestions?

I am trying to understand this requirement. Do you need to access the candra form of the vowels, i.e. ??? and ????

Or is it something else? Are those examples what you are expecting?
