Hi all:
I'm a new user and I've tried to activate the keyman via CRTL ALT SHFT P but nothing happens. I have the IPA keyboard installed and I'm testing with Wordpad in Win XP.
Any tips or suggestions on how to activate the keyboard? And once I do, how do I know it,s been turned on?

Thanks!< xavier[/quote] Hi Xavier, When Keyman is installed and running, you can see a little 'K' key icon in the bottom right of the screen. Load up Wordpad (or another application), then click the 'K' key icon, select IPA from the list of keyboards installed, and you should be able to just start using it. Thanks very much. I'm embarssed to say that I left clicked on the K icon and I saw the IPA keybaord. This brings me to the second question: the IPA keyboard is active but when I use the SHFT+ s to capitalize S nothing happens. I've noticed that SHFT plus a few letter nothing happens while others I get symbols but they're not IPA. I've read the help file but I'm still unclear as to how I obtain the symbols. What am I doing incorrectly? Thanks again! xavier |

In order to see the IPA symbols, you must make sure that you select the correct font (SILDoulos IPA93 for the older, non-Unicode keyboards, or Doulos SIL I think for the newer, Unicode IPA keyboard).
