Looks like I've had my head buried in the sand too long. I used Keyman extensively back in the early 90's, the latest upgrade being version 3.2. I had my own font and developed a kmn keyboard to suit. It ran nicely in Windows 3.11 :)
The problem is, I am still working with the same language group and would like to recover the data we produced back then. I'm concerned about compatibility with Windows XP.
The font is pre Unicode, and the kmn file is version 3.2 format.
Where do I start??

Andrew C. Keyboard Designer | Hi Paul,
One question? Can the language group you are working with be fully represented in Unicode? Ie. are there and missing characters? If not then it should be straight forward. SIL have some useful resources:
http://scripts.sil.org/cms/scripts/page.php?site_id=nrsi&item_id=UTTWriteMap
http://scripts.sil.org/cms/scripts/page.php?site_id=nrsi&cat_id=UnicodeTutorials SIL also produce a encoding converter called TECKit http://scripts.sil.org/cms/scripts/page.php?site_id=nrsi&cat_id=TECkit. You can create a mapping file for your legacy fonts to unicode. There is a plugin for Microsoft Word that allows you to run the conversion in place within the word document. Its also possible to daisy chain conversions. It can handle unicode normalization and allows you to change fonts during the conversion process. Should enable you to move your old word files to unicode. Andrew http://www.openroad.net.au |

Tavultesoft Tavultesoft Staff | Hi Vikram,
We do not plan to include any utility like TECKit in Keyman at this time. Kind regards, Paul Durdin |
