I'm trying to use the Classical Greek keyboard in MS Word 2000, but it just keeps using Latin alphabet. I honestly have no clue what I'm doing and the FAQs haven't really helped.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I suppose I should add that I use Palatino Linotype as the font, and the language bar at the bottom even says Greek, but it won't type in Greek.

Hi Kyle,

To use the keyboard, try the following steps:

1) Make sure Keyman is running.
2) Start Word.
3) Left-click on the Keyman icon in the task tray, and choose Classical Greek from the menu.
4) You should now be able to type in Greek in Word.

To return to normal Latin, click on the Keyman icon again and choose 'No Keyman Keyboard'.

Kind regards,

Paul Durdin

Whenever I click Classical Greek in the Keyman icon, it doesn't even look like it's changed, or it reverts immediately back to No Keyboard Selected.

Hi Kyle,

A couple of other things to check and try:

1) Make sure Word is the active application when you click on the Keyman icon. You can do this just by clicking anywhere in Word before trying to enable the keyboard.

2) What operating system are you using? Keyman 6.2 will not work under 64-bit versions of Windows or Windows Vista.

3) Can you send us a Diagnostic Report from the Support tab in Keyman Configuration please? To do this, open Keyman Configuration, click on the Support tab, and click the Diagnostics button. The report will give us some information on your Keyman Configuration as well as any other software that may be conflicting with Keyman.

Kind regards,

Paul Durdin

1. Still doesn't work.

2. Windows XP SP2

3. There isn't a support tab in Keyman Configuration. Only Keyboards, Options, Add-Ons, and Languages.

Hi Kyle,

Sorry for the confusion -- you must have an old version of Keyman. Please download the latest version and test the keyboard with that.

You can download Keyman 6.2 from:
http://www.tavultesoft.com/keyman/downloads/

Once it's downloaded, you can install it over the top of your current version.

Kind regards,

Installing Keyman 6.2 fixed the problem. Thanks so much.
